Rehabilitative Services

Prairie Manor Care Center offers an excellent program of rehabilitative services to the resident and community members. Physical, occupational and speech therapy are available under the supervision and guidance of trained and registered therapists with many years experience.

Therapy is available on an in-patient and out-patient basis. Our therapists are at the facility Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed. The programs are custom tailored toi meet the needs of each individual. Many of the therapy programs treat individuals on a short-term basis who arrive at the facility after an illness or injury. The goal in therapy is to help individuals achieve their opitmum level of functioning and to return to an independent lifestyle either at home or in the facility.

Physical Therapy:

• Strength and coordination exercieses
• Range-of-motion therapy

• Pain control and management
• Amputee care and prosthetics

Occupational Therapy:

• Training in the use of self-help equipment
• Cognitive skills development
• Fine and gross moto control and development
• Body strenthening and coordination
• Home evaluation/adaptive equipment assessment

Speech Therapy:

• Aphasia/disphasia management
• Language and communication development
• Cognitive rehabilitation
• Swallowing disorder improvement
• Hearing disorders
